Blackberry Plum Black Pepper Pie
Plums are just starting to come into season and we couldn't resist buying a few to play with. There was something about pairing them with blackberries and black pepper that felt fresh and exciting. The sweetness of the plums with the tart berries are a exciting combination when you add in a hint of heat. Fruit takes on a layer of flavor when paired with the spiciness of the black pepper. Not too spicy that you are reaching for water, but just enough to have your mouth start to warm with the delicate heat.
Pie comes in a 10 inch tin and serves 8-10 people.
