Candy Apple Pie
This pie is our version of a candy apple, the Candy Apple Pie. Instead of a sticky chemical candy coating, we are using tart cherries and then pairing with a mix of sweet apples. With a hint of almond extract, which is a bakers secret weapon, the pie hits all those wonderful delicious notes. A little tart, a little sweet, and packed with flavor. We tend to like pies that don’t hit you over the head with sugar, so by layering the apple and cherries with a hint of almond extract the pie tastes like a cherry danish, or a candy apple, minus that sticky sweet glaze!
Pie comes in a 10 inch tin and serves 8-10 people.
Ingredients- Apples, Sour cherries, flour, butter, sugar, vegetable shortening, tapioca flour, apple cider vinegar, almond extract, salt, lemon juice, egg.
