Montmorency Cherry Apple Pie


We had never tried this combination before, but now that we have, we are in love. You get the wonderful pop of tart cherry but it’s mellowed by sweet Idaho apples. We tend to like pies that don’t hit you over the head with sugar, so by layering the apple and cherries with a hint of almond extract the pie tastes like a cherry danish, minus that sticky sweet glaze! 

Pie comes in a 10 inch tin and serves 8-10 people.

Ingredients- Apples, Sour cherries, flour, butter, sugar, vegetable shortening, tapioca flour, apple cider vinegar, almond extract, salt, lemon juice, egg.
