Sour Cherry Galette
This galette is the perfect end to any holiday meal....or the start to any holiday breakfast! We found a stash of sour pie cherries in the freezer from our cherry picking adventures this past summer at a local farm. So we simmered them down with brown sugar, lemon juice, and almond extract and made them into this delightful compote that’s both tangy and sweet all at the same time. We love having a bit of summer brighten up this cold!
Ingredients: sour cherries, flour, butter, sugar, brown sugar, vegetable shortening, corn starch, apple cider vinegar, almond extract, vanilla extract, salt, lemon juice, egg.
